The Kinark Helping Families Website
The Challenge:
Kinark — a not-for-profit organization that aims to eliminate the public stigma surrounding children’s mental health issues, while providing education and services to families who need support — needed a communications partner to help develop an innovative, interactive website. The site had to target several diverse groups: youths, parents, teachers, youth workers as well as the general public. Kinark wanted the site’s design, functionality and content to appeal to each group, using its own language and demographic.
The Solution:
Nyman Ink designed and produced a site that welcomes visitors to a friendly environment. The concept hinges on communication. Photographs of children, teenagers and adults speak directly to site visitors; first-person and hand-written text, encourages the audience to join in the discussion. Each time a user visits the site, a different photograph and piece of text appear on the home page. Different subsections and questionnaires are included for each target visitor group and the home page highlights forums, blogs and an interactive questionnaire. The resulting site is widely accessible, and really gets people talking.
