The Challenge:
Family Service Toronto (FST) — an organization that helps individuals, families and communities through counselling, education, social action, advocacy and community development —¬ needed an Annual Report that would both satisfy the legal reporting requirements of not-for-profit institutions and serve as an information piece for those interested in the organization. The Annual Report needed to work as a printed piece as well as an interactive PDF to be posted on FST’s website. Lastly, the organization wanted something with an innovative look that would be highly readable while still highlighting the financials and the multiple lists of supporters.
The Solution:
Nyman Ink turned this project on its side — literally. Our designers created original hand-drawn illustrations and produced a horizontally formatted publication with large, bold photographs, charts and graphs. The printed piece is sized perfectly to fit into folders, while the online PDF (which can also be printed) is displayed on the FST site through an interactive and animated third-party publication site. The PDF contains links that lead users directly to the appropriate spot on the FST site, enabling FST to drive traffic to its website.
